Wellbeing

The building blocks to a better future

Wellbeing with Red Spark Learning

"I was exceedingly anxious about participating in the well-being course for numerous reasons. For a start, I have absolutely no confidence or patience with all things technical and the thought of trying to interact with new people online terrified me. It was totally unfamiliar and I was well outside of my 'comfort zone!' I get very anxious about 'getting things right' and wasn't sure I would be able to keep up!

Thankfully, I'm pleased to say all my fears have been totally allayed! The Red Spark staff helped set me up with the appropriate equipment and supported me in being able to use it, to the point of going out of their way to assist. The course Tutor is lovely! Approachable and intuitive and able to cope, well, with all our needs in the group as well as present the course material in an enthusiastic and encouraging way. More to the point, I've found the staff genuinely care about my well-being in a way that is most humbling and supportive, and have already 'gone the extra mile' to ensure I'm safe and supported, which means a massive amount to me in these strange and uncertain times..."     show more

Wellbeing program

We have developed this program of courses specifically because we understand how very difficult living life well can be. These courses help you to identify difficulties, find new ways of managing them and practice habits that make us strong and happy.
Our Wellbeing program comprises of five courses:

  1. IT for wellbeing; learning how use the technology to access the course.   ~  15 hours
  2. Emotional first aid; identifying and remedying those emotional pitfalls.  ~   15 hours
  3. Five ways to wellbeing, identifying and practicing healthy habits.   ~  30 hours
  4. Be great create, discover the joy of being creative with others.   ~  15 hours
  5. Working together, working with your peers to achieve a goal.   ~  15 hours

The course runs for one day a week, for 5 hours, and the next course will start on Monday 8th February 2021. The whole program is for 90 hours but you can just join the courses you want. Call us to book your place or discuss any technology or accessibility issues you may be concerned about.

How it works normally:

In the pre pandemic days we would hold classes in Hereford and Leominster and students would come every week to build up their skills. When they were ready, they would sit an exam and then, if they wanted to, progress to the next level. We are looking forward to returning to classroom delivery and meeting you all, however, our primary concern is keeping all our students safe.

How it works now:

Now students log on at their appointed lesson time from home every week and see, listen and talk with the tutor on our learning platform. (You can also talk with the other students). Your tutor will guide you through the skills you need through discussion, videos and tasks on the learning platform.
